Students learn about the theory of design through the three thematic units: 1) the critique of the modernist design projects, especially the design in SFRY; 2) the critique of design as an artificial means of mediation between sign production and consumption; 3) the critique of postmodernist design projects, especially in the context of political and economic transition. They study the cases between the avant-garde and utilitarian activities, which represents the basis for defining their own design projects and performing successive graphic series.
