Hours per week: 3 lectures + 3 practical classes

8 ECTS credits

Teacher: Nenad Malešević

Students learn the technique of photography through practical exercises (studies of portraits, urban landscape and still life), using different digital media (from smart phones to full frame DSLR systems). They learn how to use Adobe Lightroom software. Teaching relies on the examples from contemporary photography and the history of photography. Students are especially trained for critiquing the purpose i.e. for discussing the contexts of design use. It is obligatory for them to read the theories of Roland Barthes, Susan Sontag and Vilém Flusser. The aim of this course is to motivate the students for a long-term engagement with photography and to prepare them for the development in the domain of graphic design.
