Students learn the history of typography, especially the development of typographic letters which are in use today. They are introduced to the important elements of typeface, letter design and the differences among font types. They learn how to adequately use fonts in relation to various contents. Having obtained the basic knowledge about the fonts, they practise designing and organising pages containing text. They learn to work with text in Adobe InDesign program, through tasks such as the graphic design of books, newspapers and other print publications. The objective of the course is to prepare the students for the correct and creative use of typography in different contexts (press, web, animation, space marking, etc).
