Students are introduced to the principles of projecting 3D shapes. They learn about the characteristics of orthographic projection, the rules of graphic representation of shapes from different perspectives and the stages of technical drawing using software. They learn the elements of making project elaborations, as well as the stages of construction: from a conceptual design to software – generated design based on a technical drawing (made with AutoCAD software). They deal with problems of composing shapes. Moreover, they learn about the basic properties of materials, as well as what materials to choose, use and combine. They analyse the examples from industrial design, architecture and painting. In particular, they deal with the strategies of presenting design projects.
