Through practical classes (studies of still life, figure studies, studies of landscapes) students learn the principles, procedures and media of drawing and painting. The emphasis is put on the accuracy of presenting spatial relations, on gradual approach and the appropriateness of tonal interpretation of compositional elements. Teaching relies on examples from art history, especially on the analysis and comparison of selected poetic paradigms of renaissance, baroque, realism, impressionism and expressionism. The objective of this course is to prepare the students for the development in the field of illustration and 3D modelling.
